music videos create representations that are different from another though mise-en-scence. This can be seen in the music video s teenage dirtbag and sk8ter boi which both use the roles of teenagers but in different ways as in teenage dirtbag they are school based by having the popular girl, nerd, and jock to create a stereotypical vision of a high school which is where it is set. Compared to sk8ter boi which uses the role of teenagers as rebels by showing them putting stuff all over the city.

Compared to the main girl in Sk8ter boi who wears baggy clothing and jeans which isn't typically thought of when you think of teenage girls since they are typically known to wear bright clothes not dark ones which is seen in sk8ter boi compared to teenage dirtbag.

Also in Avril lavigen's sk8ter boi the teenagers are represented as rebellious which is seen when they have an illegal gig on top of a car in the middle of the road without a permit of any kind this can also be seen with the low angle shots taken of her.

media language--> black and white-->older-->traditional classic artist--> seriousness

media language-->close up-->facial expressions-->reveal emotion

text-->lexis-->alliteration--> 'Arise', 'Dark knight',"serving", "saving his soul"-->depressed, troubled past, questioning his path.

The representations in the mojo magazine cover are that of a depressed man who has a troubled past who is questioning his path.This is seen when the magazine says about a "dark knight" who seen to be surviving .Also it seen when it says "arise" on how he's saving his soul .The colour palette used is black and white which can represent an older more traditional classic artist the colour palette can also be linked as him being serious . The camera shot used being a close up reveals his facial expressions and how he's feeling.

media language--> black and white-->older-->traditional classic artist--> seriousness.

media language-->close up-->facial expressions-->reveal emotion--> looking at us-->seriousness.

text-->lexis-->'punk', --> rebellious, troubled past.

The representations in the mojo magazine cover are that of rebellious man who has a troubled past. Therefore the representation of age is established as a older more serious man who has got more serious as time has gone on with his age making his seem like a more traditional classic artist.The cover of Mojo Magazine shows that age is represented though the use of the colour palette used making his seem more serious.therefore age is represented as serious and troubled.

masthead-san serif, modern, clean, lowercase. colloquial, relaxed, informal
simplified- relaxed, informal

saturated white, rainbow, reflects the 1960s,
san serif - similar, white, modern, uppercase- shouting about music script the music mag shows sophisticated intrest in music
layout- cluttered, lots of info, it is covered with information.

Media language is used differently in the two covers since one of the has a young female wearing revealing clothing compared to the other magazine which has young males in a covered suits this shows that they are different as one is trying to draw people in with someone wearing revealing clothing as it would be found interesting to people compared to the one with the people covered to show that they could be ready to preform and always be ready.They are also represented as different though the coverlines as the image with Shakira on only has 4 small cover lines whereas the one with the Beatles on has double being 8 coverlines this represents that they are different as the one with. shakira is more focused on her where the one with the Beatles focuses on them but also the context on the magazine since they have multipul coverlines showing different things. A third thing that show that the magazines are different is the colour palette as for shakira the colour palette is yellowy/golden to show that she is represented as royalty for music compared top the colour palette for the Beatles its a rainbow colour palette to reflect the 1960s.

In conclusion, the magazines are different from each other though the images, coverlines and the colour palette that reflects upon the magazines.
